When I stretch out my leg and pull my toes towards me I get a burning sensation at the rear of my heel . This has gone on for a few weeks. Now though, the rear of my heel is quite numb. No pain elsewhere. Any thoughts as to condition and treatment?

it sounds like a case of plantar fascitis, that manovre you described sounds like one of the clinical tests...how does it feel in the morning or at night? other causes may be a neurological problem...tell us more
cheers
Its the same all the time, no pain except when leg fully extednded and bring my toes up. Do a fair bit of walking and feel no pain then. Why would it be numb? Don't see that on the symptoms of Fasciitis.
Is it ok to do the recommended exercises for fasciitis even though the back of my heel will hurt whilst doing them? If so, then is it a case of doing them as often as you can through the day or just the once or twice that is stated?

if its showing neurological signs, ie numbness and you arent having any diurnal symptoms then its probably not plantar fascitis, best to have a look at the nerves ....
dont exercise until you sure what it is...if its a nerve issue, plantar fascitis exercises will probably make it worse....
besides id be careful of exercises i get off the internet without directions from a professional...
best of luck
