reoccurring upper arm injury
Hi, As of last september i have had a reoccurring problem in my arm. This sports massage guy told me he thinks it is between the deltoid, the bicep and the tricep. It is more on the side of the arm than the front bicep area about halfway down. I had an ultrasound scan on it this week which showed nothing. I am now waiting for a referral to a physio. The sports massage therapist indicated that the massage is the best thing and likened the problem to popping bubble wrap and squeezing the contents out via massage therapy? A friend of mine also massaged it and said it feels like a bean?! this sent me to the docs for a scan, the idea of a lump scared me, but since its not shown up as anything i am now thinking perhaps tendonitis? I am anxious to get back into my training as i gain weight easily. What would be the normal sort of exercise to rehab something like this? Is there any point continuing with massages or is that just a waste of money til i get a physio to look at it? If anyone can offer me any advice re exercises stretches or anything that may help in the meantime i would be very grateful indeed. thanks Ally

Hi Ally, I also have an ankle injury and currently having a hydrotherapy. It seems to be working, I can now walk without the stabbing pain. As for your problem, I guess you should consult a sports doctor so that they can offer you the best therapy. Has massage improve your situation?

Hi Jessica, to a point but even just trying a couple of tops on in a row it feels so weak and sore, the action of lifting the tops off over my head. something so trivial its frustrating. i have never tried hydrotherapy. i am guessing that is something a specialist would do? It is a different set up here in the UK. You go to your GP first and they refer you to a physio. I am not sure they would even consider something so high tech as water therapy lol I will have to do some research and see if i can find a sports therapist locally. I did find one but every time iv emailed or rang i get no reply so the wait continues i guess, thanks for the advice though i will certainly try to find one. Glad it is helping your ankle :)
