alternative therapy

Dear All,
I am from Hungary and I need to write a ppt report to my director about the alternative therapy in the physiotherapy area in abroad. Can somebody give me some information whether there is any alternative therapy subject in your BSc education wherever you graduated?Or any other possibilities?Do somebody mix the physiotherapy knowledge with any alternative therapy?If yes, what is that? Do somebody do One Brain Concept method in physiotherapy area?.Thanks

I am not aware of alternative therapies being taught during the undergraduate courses in Australia or the UK. However many students do train in alternative therapies and work in those fields while studying to become a physiotherapist. It might be interesting to look at what other therapies PT students are learning and using whilst studying for their degrees.

Firstly, "Alternative Therapies" would imply that the therapy being offered is instead of the physiotherapy. It is preferable to use the term "Complimentary Therapy" for treatments such as Acupuncture (for Example) which is not currently offered at undergraduate level. Chartered Physiotherapists in the UK are registered with the Health Professions Council and they are governed by "Codes of Conduct" and therefore must work within these rules. Qualified Physiotherapists can complete a foundation course in Acupuncture with an accredited couse tutor and use this as an ajunct to their profession. They can also do Pilates.
