HCPC registration

Hi everyone,

I'm a spanish physiotherapist with 4 years experience in private clinic, and four masters: Ostheopathy, Massage, Pilates and Sports Phisyiotherapy.

For personal reasons I'm moving to UK in a few weeks, and I want to work there as a physiotherapist. Which are the steps I must take to certify mi position? I believe I must apply to HCPC, but do I also need to join the Chatered Society of Physiotherapy to find a job?

And another question, to apply to HCPC I must include complementary studies, may I include the four masters?

Best read this section on the forum to find out your answers. They are in here at length. You must have HPC registration and to be honest I would not come until you have it. It will require time, money and patience but you'll get there.You can also look directly on the HPC website for more information on the process.

You do not have to join the CSP as it is not a requirement to practice as a physio in the UK. However you will need Professional Indemnity insurance and joining the CSP may be a cost effective way to getting that.

You need to apply to hpc to register as physio in UK. They will ask you all your documents, about studies, etc, you can go on their site and find there all the papers u need to prepare.
It takes long to get register, about 6 month but I had a colegue at the clinic which was also portuguese, and they didn't ask her to complete any test of competence to get register.
So you need only to do the application and wait. Hopefully will be the same with your case.

After years of looking for a NHS registered physiotherapist to help me complete adaptation period, I found a fantastic Dr.of physiotherapist who trained me and supervised me to receive my registration number. Contact her and see if it works for you. It is tough but possible!

Hy there everybody

I am so sad i could not register with Hcpc yet, they had told me to either to have same adaptation period either an aptitude test by presenting same case studies in the field like neurological rehabilitation, cardio-respiratory , acute and chronic and musculoskeletal out patient.

I really dont know how should i proced :(

What happens if you fail the TOC?

If you fail you need to apply again, you need to get practical experience and also prepare yourself, when is your test?
