TENS muscle spasm question
hello, i've been diagnosed with a t8-t9 disc bulge, only symptoms are chronic muscle spasms, no disc pain, no neurological pain. i have had this for 5ish months. in the last few days ive tried using a TENS machine, HUGE difference, it really helps. what are the best settings for muscle spasms? I've been using 250 pulse width, 100 pulse rate and alternating between continuous, burst and modular, i dont know which mode is best for spasms? any help would be great please.
Re: TENS muscle spasm question
If it is working on the settings you are using then stick with those. TENS only works at the level of the skin as the penetration depth is not enought to directly affect muscle spasm. I would suggest that the sensory distraction from the skin sensors are resulting in a relaxing of the muscles around the painful area. Your TENS machine should have a manual in which there should be guidance. If you don't have it google it as most are able to be found on the web.
