Important decision to make, More studies vs. Working experience
Hello guys, I was wondering what should I do. I am a charted physiotherapist in Romania and Saudi Arabia. I graduated in 2010 in Romania, after a 3 years BSc. course on applied physiotherapy in Sports (meaning that I did also Sport therapy and physiotherapy.) I have a MSc, that I should finish after a few exams in Sports Trauma Physiotherapy in Romania(2 years course time). And now I am working as a Physiotherapist in Saudi Arabia. What are the chances for me to find a good job in English speaking countries, maybe Australia, UK (Long shot) maybe even New Zeeland ? Should I study more ? Like 1 more MSc in UK, or PhD for these countries, to have a chance to get the National Health approval ? Or should I keep the current job to gather more experience ? What do you know ? Maybe you know some abroad Physios that could join these countries with to much of a headache. Thank you.

In case you want to work in english speaking countries as the UK (only country you would have a chance to enter without any exams) you better check what their requirements are before you can register as a physio. This you can check with the individual physiotherapy society of the country and with the immigration office. Do I think you will have for the moment enough background to enter e.g. New Zealand? No, because you need to have an all round knowledge of physiotherapy from paediatrics to elderly and from musculoskeletal via pneumo-cardio to neurological problems (you can only enter NZ with an overall knowledge). In Australia, Canada and the USA a exam must be passed before getting (full) registration.
Advice 1st know where you want to go then act accordingly.

First sorry for late response. Actually my BSc, is on all round knowledge from post-strokes treatment, and peripheral nerves treatment in diabetes and so on, even on cardiac-respiratory conditions such bronchitis and many others. My experience its also with wide range of domains, most of it in hospitals and clinics, from pediatrics to old people. So could you provide more info about New Zealand ? in NZ you apply for registration. The fee is NZ$1226,-. Your degree, other studies and work experience will be assessed and a decision will be made whether you get registered or not. It's all done on an individual basis.
