NZ portfolio help
Hey all,
I'm thinking of moving to NZ later in the year once I complete my masters, but have a few questions re. the portfolio.
How long does it take to put together? How much detail do you need to go into and can anyone give an example of how to demonstrate evidence? For example is it sufficient to list modules that I've studied at uni, case studies from clinical placements etc or is it more like writing mini essays on certain topics?? I can't find any examples anywhere of how exactly you should demonstrate the competancies. Can anyone enlighten me?!:o
Thanks!

Re: NZ portfolio help
It takes a good few months to do. It's not difficult but time consuming to get all the info and then to answer all the comp., takes its time. I've gathered all my uni info, letters from work, IPR from work, dissertation and a few other things, all of which has to be countersigned by my uni and a solicitor, then check your cross ref.
Answering the comp., there isn't must help out there, i got most of my info from NZ physio board, and read it through several times, trying to answer exactly as they want it

http://www.physioboard.org.nz/docs/r...quirements.pdf
the above websites helped me.
A good lot of my evidence came from my syllabus from uni
If your a new grad on a 3 yr course you need extra work experience
Hope this helps

Re: NZ portfolio help
Hi Paul,
Thanks for that, I appreciate it will probably take a while to do! Yep I know about the work experience thing but I'm doing the masters course and apparently they are happy to take us with that instead of post-qualifiying experience....not sure why but there you go! They also accept scottish undergrads because here the Bsc is 4 years.:)
Thanks again

Re: NZ portfolio help
Hey,
I'm not doing it- basically looks like I can't apply until I've done a min of 12 months work here first, checked it out with the NZ board and it's a no-go I'm afraid! Possibly going to try for Aus instead, that is unless by some miracle I manage to get a job in the UK!:)

Re: NZ portfolio help
Hi paul
I am a physio from India , presently living in melbourne. I am planning to apply for NZ registration and read about the portfolio requirement.
My course is of 4 and half yrs. After that, I had 1 and half yrs. of experience in private practice.
Is this sufficient enough to apply as I am not clear what are they asking in evidences to show the competency? What evidences can we show? I have just got 2 work exp. certifiacte and they are very basic.
what do you mean by dissertation? i just made one project in my study which is on paraplegia.
Kindly help me as I have to start working on that as in this jan. I ll be completing 3 yrs. finishing my gradutaion. So , got very less time to work on.
Regards
Ruchi
