patellofemoral pain
Hi, i have had patellofemoral pain in both of my kness for about 3 -4 yrs. I have had 2 lots of surgery, bilateral lateral releases back in 04 and bilateral tibial tubercle transfers in june 06. My right knee is great now, but my left is giving me some trouble. I was into running before the problem came about and I would like to get back into it. I started trying to run about 8 months post op, but i got pain under the lateral/inferior aspect of the patella (different location to original pain)? Anyone got any advise?
Thanks
Pete

Re: patellofemoral pain
Hi - go see a physiotherapist who understands the biomechanics of the hip and "lower limb kinetic chain". Your surgery addressed what we would call the "source" of the pain but not the "cause" of the pain.
A good assessment and rehabilitation programme would sort out any issues you have.
Thanks
