"frayed ankle tendon" and "bouncing" arm when using

I am posting this message on behalf of my partner. In Oct 2012 she slipped whilst climbing some stairs and went over on her ankle. We took her too the hospital for an xray and there was no break or fracture, the nurse who saw us said that it sounds like a frayed tendon. After some rest she started walking again, albeit in pain and difficulty, and unfortunately she fell over again on the same ankle and went over on her side this time. Since then her ankle has been quite swollen compared to the left ankle and still causes her pain. She has difficulty getting the ankle to place itself correctly and seems to want to twist so it rests on the right outer edge of the foot. the doctor said it needs some time and the x-ray shows nothing wrong. Do we need to do some extra massages to the ankle to help it?? get a scan of some sort to see whats what??? or ?????

whilst she has been recuperating from her ankle, she had a epileptic fit which put her in hospital, the MRI of her brain showed some damage to her motor cortex controlling her shoulder area. This caused a series of constant and progressive "twitches" coming from the shoulder spreading to her arm and hand. Over time it shrank down to just the shoulder area and then stopped. However a few months on and she is still having this "bouncy ball" effect in her right arm when she starts to do things with it, e.g. using a spoon to eat with or drink anything. She now drinks everything through a straw because holding a cup for a few seconds will cause the arm to bounce and the last thing she needs is 3rd degree burns. She says when she tries to use the troublesome arm, she gets a tightening in the shoulder blade area and that causes the arm to bounce. Shes been doing intermediate care physio with some arm exercises for 8 weeks now, to learn to walk again, however this arm thing keeps troubling her. any ideas???
