PT Student looking for work in Australia
Hi - I'm a PT student about to start my third and final year, after which I am hoping to go and work in Australia. I also have a foundation degree which means that I can work as an Associate Practitioner (in PT). does anyone know whether this role exists in Australia?
Any info will be greatly received. Many thanks. Louise

Hi Brizza
Thanks for your reply. Do you have different grades of physio aides? Do you have such a thing as an associate practitioner? (Basically the qualification consists of a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care (2 years study, the 2nd of which is the first year of a BSc physio degree).
Re: PT Student looking for work in Australia
dear loubyloo
we don't have diferent grades of pt aides in aus, they are all paid badly,i think the pt association is resisting anything better than annual incremental pay increases and the course is one week in duration and i believe it includes how to make tea and coffee for qualified staff with a certificate of attendance at the end so what else to say, good luck with everything

Re: PT Student looking for work in Australia
Hi Brizza
Thanks for your reply. Guess I'll struggle on with my degree and try and become qualified! I would have loved to have taken you up on your offer of a student placement, but my husband wouldn't buy it for some reason!!!
Roll on next year when I become a real physio!
