Lumbar/glute/lateral discomfort following rack pulls

Hey there,

I have read the similar posts with this concern and don't feel that mine is 100% similar so I was curious for some feedback, apologies if it seems like a copy.

I was rack pulling yesterday, and did 10 sets of singles. If you think your eyes are rolling now, here's the worst part: this is my second week of 10 singles. I know, lesson learned. I felt fresh and let my ego get the better of me.

I worked up to a PB around set 6 - around 10 kilos heavier than my best full deadlift. I only did this for once set and then began working back down. However about 3 sets later i felt a twinge. It kind of felt like my right piriformis/glute med/tfl. I got the rest of my pulls done on weight that was about 45kilos lighter and didn't do any more loaded work, just some bodyweight single leg stuff.

As soon as I got home I was massaging and stretching but I couldn't find any trigger point or diagnostic clue (although I will admit to not being any kind of therapist). A few hours later I had to get the train which unfortunately involved around 2 hours of sitting down. From that point onwards my back has been sore in the areas I have highlighted.

I woke up this morning to weakness and loss of ROM when hip hinging. Also some discomfort in sit-up type movements (just to get out of bed) and standing. Fair bit of discomfort and restriction when flexing the spine/posteriorly tilting the pelvis via 4-point positions. There also seems to be a narky feeling (not pain) in the glute and lateral hip that is stronger when standing. Here's the other details I can think of:

No shooting/radiating pain, loss of sensation or function.
No previous injury in similar place except for right-side strain about 10 years ago that has never provided any aggravation since.
History of unilateral sport (left foot forward), poor ankle ROM, spends too much time sitting down.

I would appreciate anyone's feedback (bravo if you've read this far), and I would like to sound out my theories of what I think has happened:

Potential loss of neutral lumbar into a rounded position caused by overload/fatigue, leading to strain of spinal erectors - but then why the glute/hip pain?

General strain across posterior chain caused by overload and lack of build-up to high volume strength work - but wouldn't this have built up over time instead of being such a sudden incident?

Some kind of piriformis syndrome - but then where's the radiculopathy? And again, wouldn't this have a more chronic build-up?
