OMT Master opinion (Australia and New Zealand.. or Canada)
Hello,
i am an italian pt and are interested in going abroad for an omt-ifompt master.
I am more interested in manipulative therapy and clinical practice than research or pain stuff.
I got my COMT with Toby Hall and Kim Robinson last year and heard good things about Curtin Master.
But also saw the Master of Manual Therapy (3 months only) at UWA.. and also the master in NZ.
So, i am a bit confused about all of them.. and i would be grateful if you can share your experiences here.
Thanks
F.
PS: i hope this is the correct section for this post...
Re: OMT Master opinion (Australia and New Zealand.. or Canada)
Hi,
in NZ you can do your Masters if your degree is accepted; I think you might need to register as Physio first. But you best ask the university - e.g. AUT.
Here is the general info: Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy: postgraduate papers and qualifications you can study - AUT University
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy: Postgraduate Course Contact Information - AUT University
What are you confused about? Can you explain a bit more in detail?
Cheers, Fyzzio
Re: OMT Master opinion (Australia and New Zealand.. or Canada)
Thanks for your reply.
Well, some of them look very similar, some need to stat abroad for 3 months (MMT at UWA), some for 8 months (Curtin), etc.
Also, some prefer to teach mobilization techniques.. other manipulations, etc.
Im trying to find out if MMT at UWA is ok for me, but 3 months is enough to really learn and improve?
Ciaooooo

Seems like MMT @ UWA is now closed...
