Pain when swinging leg laterally towards body
Hello,
I am asking this question here as I've found it impossible to Google for this particular problem. One of the warm ups I like to do is leg swinging. I swing my leg front to back a few times, and side to side a few times. When my left leg is lifted inwards, towards my right side (like in Step 2 here: Side Leg Swings Exercise), I feel a pain in my high hamstring/bum area. It has been like this since about September 2014. What could this be? Thanks.
Re: Pain when swinging leg laterally towards body
One of the reason you are getting pain could be the tight muscle of your leg mainly (abductors and and external rotators of leg). With regular stretches you should be able to address your pain. Try finding stretches for Piriformis muscle on Google and do some stretches. However, if the pain increases go seek a PT as this could lead to gait problems in future.
Re: Pain when swinging leg laterally towards body
There could be a number of reasons for the pain. It could be due to muscle problem or joint issue. It can also be because of a neurological condition. I would suggest you to visit a doctor for a proper diagnosis.
