So, I have osgood schlatter for year... it stopped being painful for years...Lately after being on my left knee for lots of hours for one week my left tibial tuberosity became much bigger.
In the beginning it was painful with palpation and I could feel some kind of friction when I moved the skin right above the tibial tuberosity.
I assumed it's a form of bursitis so used some needling to desensitize the area. The next day there was no pain but the swelling was really big...
I stopped using this knee to kneel and after 6 days the swelling subsided a bit.
The strange thing is that today an ultrasound and there was no increased fluid anywhere in the knee...
So, what exactly is this swollen thing above the tibial tuberosity?
Searching on the net I couldn't even find a similar pathology (maybe the closest is preacher's knee but different authors talk about different areas on the knee).
