Employment in UK

The one thing that bugs me that doesn't living in UK cost a lot? I have compared some living costs (basically rent) and the interesting options range from 900-1700 pounds per month. Isn't that about half of the monthly salary of physio? How much is the salary of physio anyway in UK?

I'm just thinking how can I make the ends meet living there.
