Canadian physio working in the USA?
Hey everyone,
I'm a Canadian physio (masters) that is frustrated with the current market in Toronto, and looking to make a move to the US. Is anyone familiar with what the process is like? My understanding is that I can't write the NPTE until I have my degree evaluated, and take any missing classes? How long does this process usually take? Is it hard finding a job in the US as a foreigner?
Thanks for any and all help!
Edit: For clarity, I have a masters in physio from an accredited school in Canada. I read somewhere that they also look at your undergrad degree, and want certain courses such as physics (which I do not have). Would they ask me to go back and do these undergrad courses, or are they more particular about the physical therapy courses?
Re: Canadian physio working in the USA?
Did you get your masters from Canada or abroad? If not Toronto, have you tried looking into other provinces? I'm sure there are vacancies outside of the GTA.

Hi
Yes USA needs your credentials to be evaluated before you can become eligible for the NPTE exam. There are few approved agencies who evaluate foreign credentials. Not too sure if the registration rules are different for Canadian Physios aspiring to work in USA (just the way it works for NZ-AUS).
