hiiiiii all physio
plz could any body tell me if this case can be managed and what is the appropriate management ....
the case is patient who falls from high altitude resulted in lumbar vertebra fracture and tibial fracture......from 15 days he performed 2 operation
1 - vertebral fixation by orthotic cage
2- open reduction with internal fixation with plate and screws for the tibia now he is in plaster cast .....
plzzzzz any suggestions?????!!!! :rolleyes:

With a username like "The Therapist" you would think you already knew the answer to your question. Sounds like a typical orthopaedic case. Consider each injury independently and make a list of what you might do in the short term for each. Then combine the lists and see if anything conflicts. If so see if you can work around them.Quote:

No problem. If it is that soon post surgery perhaps talk with the surgeon. I am sure they have a pretty strict protocol for the initial weeks

Aftrer spinal fixation , pt has to mobilzed as soon as possible and lower limb strengthening exercises and non-weight bearing on effected limb
