New Zealand Registration for Indian Physiotherapist
Dear All,
I am a qualified Physiotherapist from India with a Masters degree. I have around 4yrs of experience post Masters with one and half year experience in the UAE. I am preparing myself to apply for New Zealand Physiotherapy registration. I sat for ielts once but did not get the desired score so will be resitting the exam soon.
My query is how is the physiotherapy job market currently in New Zealand and if physiotherapist qualified from India will be considered for the job?
Regards,
Pearl

Hi Pearl,
I would suggest contact new zealand admistration office and give your background. They should let you know that would you be eligible to apply.
Thanks

1) Is Indian Physiotherapy degree recognised in New zealand?
2) Do I need to register myself first before being enrolled in Phd program?
3) if yes, what is the process?

Re: New Zealand Registration for Indian Physiotherapist
Hi,
as I understand it:
1) No - every applicant will be assessed individually; there is no general recognition of degrees.
2) I do not think so, unless you include working with clients. Best to discuss this with the university you are planning to enroll with.
Without registration you are not allowed to have any contact with any clients in any way and you are not permitted to call yourself Physiotherapist.
3) NZ registration is achieved through the application for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand.
Good luck,
