Physiotherapy in cape town, south africa
Hello,
I am an Italian physiotherapist, specialized in musculoskeletal field, and I am wondering to move to Cape Town, South Africa, with my husband.
I know nothing about our job as physio there, so I am there to ask you if someone can give me any useful information about it.
Do you know if there is need for physiotherapist out there?
And if so, do the salaries are high enough to have a decent life, compared to the cost and quality of life in Cape Town?
Would you suggest me any website, contact, other blog or else, that I could ask to?
Thank you very much for your help and time.
Kindly,
Elena
Re: Physiotherapy in cape town, south africa
Hi Elena,
I'm a South African physiotherapist who left the country about 10 years ago now. I was based in Cape Town at a private practice inside a hospital. Work wise, it is a very interesting place to work and gain experience. I cannot tell you the salaries at the moment since I've not worked there in so long. However, to start your process, you can look at the website of the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HCPSA) in order to find out how to get on their professionals list. Then I can put you directly in touch with some of my friends who are working there. I hope this helps you. Might be a bit late as I see you posted back in August.
You can always send me a private message if you want to have a chat.
Kind regards.
