Developed tennis elbow

I am actually here on behalf of my friend who developed tennis elbow just from gardening for 2 hours. We have tried pretty much everything--cortisone shots, chiropractor, etc and we were going to look into acupuncture services in Mississauga. I remember my dad had tennis elbow years ago from picking up his heavy metal briefcase every day at work and he swore that acupuncture helped. It honestly looks like it's going to be our next option, but I was wondering if any of you have had acupuncture for tennis elbow. If so, did it help? How long did it take to work? Was it permanent, or do you have to regularly keep going back for treatments? Any help or advice would really be appreciated.
