Re: hydrotherapy
Hi. Part of my job requires me to take patients into a hydro pool. I too come out in a rash when I get out and my collegues have put this down to the amount of chlorine in the pool. I now make sure I spend longer in the shower after a session and this seems to work.

Re: hydrotherapy
I work in a hot pool, and luckily have had no problems but a patient who did told me that if she showered the night before then rubbed sorbolene cream in thoroughly especially where the rash seems to be the worst, by the next morning all the cream has been absorbed (so it wont come off in the pool) but it seems to give a layer of protection to the skin.

Re: hydrotherapy
Hello I was wondering if it makes a difference what kind of pool you use for hydrotherapy, because I only have access to a regular swimming pool for recreational swim. I want to go jogging in a pool because my doctor said i may have a case of jumper's knee and I thought it would be good for me, but I just wanted to know if it was necessary to use a hydrotherapy pool or if a regular pool was fine
any feedback would be appreciated, thanks

Re: hydrotherapy
dear colleagues,
I have been told told that chloride molecules go into the skin and stay there + take a while to leave again. That is the reason why you can still smell it after the shower. Apparently it takes approx. 30 min. to leave the skin again. I tend to tell people this ( especially parents with babies in the pool) and tell them to to wash a second time when they come home.
I have been told it helps.
maybe.....
