Total Knee Replacement - Ice & Exercise regime questions
Had a TKR a week ago and would appreciate some expert advice to help me with the recovery please.
My knee has been troublesome for 10 years and its muscle condition has been neglected. Recently an impingement in the hip has also been diagnosed which has further affected the mobility and strength.
Anyway, TKR was done and massive swelling. All is well though. My questions:
1. How many times a day should I use Ice and for how long?
2. I am unable to raise my straight leg when lying flat on back.- also on back, leg straight not enough strength to move leg left/right. Muscles too weak. Which exercises will help to strengthen the muscles to be able to do this?
Much obliged.
