Vertebrae out of alignment? Constand popping noise between shoulder blades
Hello! I have been taking care of children for the past 7 years. Constant holding and picking them up is taking a toll on me. Backache is an every day thing. My posture has never been great but it has gotten worse. I constantly try to remind myself to stand straight. So when i pull my shoulders back i hear this grinding noise or a series of pops right in between my shoulder blades. A few weeks ago i discovered what appears to be a vertebrae that is not aligned with the rest between my shoulder blades. What could this be?
Thanks a lot for all your help!

Re: Vertebrae out of alignment? Constand popping noise between shoulder blades
Hi Busy bee - while i can only tell from what i am seeing, i wouldnt worry about this too much. Normal is a spectrum and everyones spine has varying degrees of normal. It is unlikely that your vertebrae is out of alignment (this is a term that is dying out as modern medicine sees that verterbrae tend not to be out of alignment) but more a case of the natural growth and orientation of your spinous processes (the tips you see on your back).
With any thoracic aches and pains related to posture and day to day activities just focus on regular movement and gentle stretching. The Thoracic spine loves rotation and needs to be moved so this is usually the best way forward.
Hope this Helps
