Grade 2 MCL sprain: how long to wear hinged knee brace?

I suffered a knee MCL sprain in beginning of August that I’ve been struggling with. I believe i probably reinsured it twice since then in late august and early September. It was grade 2 on MRI (partial tear) but i haven’t really had any instability.

I’m still wearing the brace most of the day and night. My symptoms have finally been improving. I still have minor pain some of the time and during certain movements.

How long should i wear my brace? I don’t want to wear it too long. But my last reinjury was slipping on some wet concrete after i had stopped wearing my brace as much (wasn’t wearing it at the time).
