Possible Pes Anserine Pain?

Hey guys, I hope everyone is well!

I was wondering if I could get some assistance and guidance in regards to a recent injury I’ve been suffering with. Back in December I disclocated my knee in a freak accident where I slipped on iced decking in the garden. After multiple tests and MRI, it was confirmed I had an Oesteochondral Fracture to the end of my Left Femur. In January, I underwent a Left Knee Arthroscopy and Fixation of Osteochondral fragment. All went well and I am just over 5 months post surgery.

I recently visited an NHS physio who asked if I was running, I said no and his response was ‘why’ and that I should be now so I started light short running over the last 3 weeks. I starter with walks up to 10k steps which was fine. I then progressed to short runs on my walks eg. A 100m run then a couple hundred metre walks which again have been going well. Unfortunately last week I believe I overdone it whilst in the gym. I was walking on the treadmill at around 6.2 speed and as it felt comfortable, I progressed to short 30-45sec intervals at 10 speed for around 6-8 rounds. I continued this along with calling and my overall workout was around 45mins.

The next day I woke up and ever since, I’ve had an extremely sharp pain I continuously have in my left leg (the only place to explain is below my left knee to the right) I will add an attachment to pin point where the pain is coming from (in the imagine, it will be circled in blue where the pain is coming from). It’s most at pain when I go to lift my leg, say for example off the sofa or swing it off the bed to put my feet down. When walking and lifting my left leg off the floor to step forward: I am getting a lot of pain then aswell.

If anyone could put me in the right direction as to what it may be and possibly what I could do to rehab it, I’d be hugely grateful! I am a UK firefighter and currently off work due to the injury so I am hoping to get back soon with any help I can get along with my own knowledge and training. I believe it’s some sort of issue to my pes anserine but I am not 100% sure.
