Physio jobs in Switzerland
I am a Canadian trained physio (English as a first language) and my husband is looking into jobs in Switzerland. Any information re: transfer of credentials and possibility of working there with a Canadian degree? What kind of healthcare system is in Switzerland (private/public)? Are physios working in hospital settings or outpatient settings?
Any information would be appreciated!
Re: Physio jobs in Switzerland
I was wondering if you knew whether a physical therapist with a US diploma (DPT) could work in Switzerland? Would appreaciate any feedback!
Thanks!
Re: Physio jobs in Switzerland
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me?
I am a newly qualified Physio, having graduating from the University of Keele, UK in June with a 1st class honours degree. Since graduating I have worked as a Clinical Support Worker and Therapy Assistant Practitioner. I have recently started a full-time rotational Physiotherapy post on a six-month contract, after which time (i.e. September of this year) I plan to move to Geneva.
I really don't know much about working in Geneva, other than what I have read on this page. I cannot speak French and only have German skills up to a GCSE level. I know this will make it difficult for me to work professionally but as I am only going to be living in Geneva for 1-2 years, I don't mind working/volunteering as a carer or in a similar role, so long as I can do something to enhance my CPD in some way. Can anyone offer advice on what I should be doing/looking for before I move? Is it reasonable to apply for care worker type jobs with such limited language?
Thanks
