ankle sprain help
alright, i rolled/sprained my ankle almost three weeks ago, and i still can't play basketball. There wasn't a lot of swelling, and i only had to limp around for the first 1-2 days, so i assume its a G1 or 2 at most.
After having an anxiety attack over not being able to exercise, i decided to seek online help (im scheduled for physical therapy this week however) my right ankle feels week (injured one). when i hope on it, it is not as bouncy as my left, and if i jump rope for too long then pain starts to settle in. i wear a splint always. what can i expect from my ankle? swelling and bruising is gone, but its still bothering me, what should i do?
also, is icing beneficial after swelling has disappeared? ty.

Re: ankle sprain help
hi
i would suggest no exercise till you see your physio and then rehab can progress.
At the moment try to stay away from aggravating activities. If there is no swelling no need to ice.
Your ankle will obviously not feel like the non injjured one. When there is an injury, muscles start to weaken quickly due to pain inhibition.
Your therapy at a later stage will include strengthening..
keep us updated.
