ACL Reconstruction
Hi All,
I've posted on this site before, see my "partial ACL tear thread' for more details of my injury:
http://www.physiobob.com/forum/patie...-acl-tear.html
Anyway, i've now been put on the waiting list for reconstructive surgury. They decided to do this after i explained to them that after 30 minutes of football, i'd lost full range of motion which i had regained after my
meniscus removal. So, within the next 12 weeks i will be having the reconstrructive surgury using a patella tendon.
I can still jog, hop, weight train on legs and squat, so what sort of things must i now do to help me be in the best shape i can be in before and post operation?

Re: ACL Reconstruction
Hi
I was wondering how your reconstruction went and if you made the right decision. I am now a couple of months post arthroscopy in which a partial tear was diagnosed after suspected meniscal tear was thought initially. I played touch rugby on the weekend and it was fine until my knee felt like it went out of alignment when I turned to pass backwards. I have a bit of swelling but it wasn't what I would consider fully giving way and in general feels really stable. Much like your situation. Now I'm waiting to see the specialist, but am not convinced in my mind I need the reconstruction .. yet.
