Does NHS funding mean you have to work for the NHS after qualifying?

Hi Guys,

I am currently a Physiotherapy student on an NHS funded course and have been looking for the answer to my question but can't find a straight answer anywhere. If you are on and NHS funded course do you have to work for the NHS for a certain time once you have qualified? I am sure this is the case but a few people have told me otherwise and I can't find any concrete answers anywhere.

The reason I ask is because long term I plan to move to Australia and am wondering if this is theoretically possible (I think I need one years experience anyway) straight from qualifying?
