difference between assistant & t.instructor, different bands
I’ve done one year of a physio degree & am having to take a year out, so I’m trying to get an assistant job. I had an interview today for a band 3 assistant post, but didn’t get it. One of the reasons given was that I didn’t know/understand the difference between the roles of band 2 & 3 assistants. So:
(1) can anyone give me descriptions of the roles & responsibilities of the different bands, or let me know where I can find this info?
(2) what's the difference between an assistant & a technical instructor, or are they just different names for the same thing?
Thanks!
Re: difference between assistant & t.instructor, different bands
Hi
I worked in Neuro as a physio assistant for about a year and a half before starting my physio degree. The TI I worked with had more responsibility than myself, such as discharging TIA patients, stair assessments etc. I discussed with her the differences, mainly it was the amount of time spent in healthcare (some trusts want five years healthcare experience before TI status) at the trust I worked in they would complete an NVQ level 3 before they could be put up to a TI level (in some trust this position is known as a senior assistant) There are probably other explanations these are the ones I know :)
