Canadian Physiotherapy National Competency Exam
Hi,
I am a foreign trained physiotherapist and preparing for the National competency exam (written component). Can anyone guide me about books that are helpful to pass this exam. I already have O Sullivan’s review guide, therapeutic exercises by Kisner and Colby, Physical rehabilitation assessment and treatment by O Sullivan, Orthopedic physical assessment by D. J Magee, and a book on physical agents by Cameron. Can anyone please tell me if these books are sufficient enough to pass the Canadian exam or if I am missing any important text book. I am also looking for a study partner or a study group. Anyone writing the Canadian Exam, please contact me at
[email protected]
Thank you

Canadian licencing exams
Hi Sarah, Within this forum there are already a number of threads and posts that discuss the Canadian registration process. These discuss various aspects from exams to recognition of training. I have groups some of the more useful starting points under a Canada tag which can be reached from the Tags link on the top navigation bar.
Please try reading a few of these and add any questions or additions to these existing posts rather than starting a whole new one. Best of luck... ;)
The direct link to this tag is /forum/tags/index.php?tag=/canada/

Re: Canadian Physiotherapy National Competency Exam
You do need a good Cardio-respiratory book. I used Alexandra Hough's.

Re: Canadian Physiotherapy National Competency Exam
Hi
Welcome!:)
Canada is a good place for physio practice. You need to do your credentialing through Canadian Alliance of Physiotherapy and once your credentialing is completed you need to take up the written and the clinical exam; but if your physio credits (education) doesn't match with the Canadian then you need to take up courses before you do your exam.
All the best!
