Help USA Steps..

Hi Physiotherapists,
First, I want to thank the Founder "PhysioBob" of this Helpful forum.. good job.

I won`t make it long but i was going with the Australian Exams and now with the Americans... anyway

I have a Visit Visa to United States and i have been collecting information about the Steps needed to get through all the way to the license.

Now, I have FCCPT, FSBPT and State Board and i don`t know (1) how to start the process. Is it from FCCPT or State Board?

If it`s FCCPT, (2) What type of Evaluation that i need? i don`t have a TOEFL and is it possible to use OET instead of TOEFL? and i intend to apply for H1 after getting the License.

(3) Should i prepare and apply to the exam before or after going to USA?

(4) Is it true that when applying for FCCPT, there is no need to apply for State board as it work on its behalf?

(5) How long Does the Whole Process Takes?

(6) What`s the preferred State to practice physical therapy as a start?

I`m sorry for the long list but whatever information you have, that`ll be very helpful to me.. cause i am very confused.. There`re other things that i need to know but i don`t remember them now so i`ll post later...

1.you have to apply for your credentials thru FCCPT or ICD the credentialing boards in US
2.Apply type 1 evaluation.You require TOEFL ibt scores without which FCCPT wont start your evaluation.Total score 89..speaking 26..this is mandatory
3. Apply for NPTE bfr going to US..
4.You have to apply separetely to FSBT www.fsbpt.org for details
5.Timing how long it takes can never be predicted....

I have been on FCCPT and FSBPT websites for a while now and i decided to go with FCCPT Educational Credentials Review ONLY !! and not Type (I) cause the state board i`m applying to doesn`t ask for TOEFL and i`ll do the Type (II) for visa screen later.

About NPTE Exam, is it hard to get?

Hey which state are you applying for?That doesnt require TOEFL...would like to know about it...according to my knowledge..all state boards require TOEFL at some or the other point...

I checked it but I feel its not updated..Because now TOEFL CBT is replaced by TOEFL ibt...and scores mentioned here are for CBT...

But again for Type 2 u require TOEFL...

FYI you do not have to do the TOEFL if you from an English speaking country and your degree was in English. All states require the TOFL as does your work VISA

i have just completed my 2 year MSc in the UK. thinking about applying for the USA. this may be a really silly question but when they ask for your degree to be notarized, do you know what is meant by that, who do you get it notarized by, is it the college (they looking for an offical stamp). I won't be getting my actual Cart until the date of graduation which isn't until Nov. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Notarisation is done by advocates or lawyers they will sign and seal the xerox of your certificates stating its a copy of the certificate issued from such and such institution.....notarisation not from your college...

Any indian physio had done Credential evaluation Thru FCCPT and cleared. Do I need Physics and chemistry in General education credits which is asked by fccpt. You can find it in check list i have uploaded.Please Check this and reply. Which Indian physio syllabus have Physics and chemistry and from where did you completed your degree.

i ahve applied for the CFFNS visa screening and recently i have cleared the toefl with 26 speking section and 106 overall score,it is under process now i want to apply for the credential evaluation.i am trained 4 and 1/2 years physiotherapist from Dr.N.T.R university of health sciences,andhrapradesh.so can i apply for the newyork/michigan to get clered.i waited since long time for the DMP deficiency make up program from HCMII.com organisation but it is getting toolate to start the course.so i decided to apply for the michigan/newyork.

so which agency is the best way to deal my case.once if i started the credential process is it possible to add credits after my DMP if i do the course after the report once issued.

please tell me the complete procedure to me

1)is credential evaluation report needed for CGFNS VISA screening??

2)is CGFNS visa screen eligible to apply for NY state (if i get the credential evaluation from NY through the FCCPT)

3)if we get the certification from CGFNS visa screening can we go directly to fccpt type-2??

4) is FCCPT type-2 required even after compltion of VISA screening from cgfns??

5)tell me entire procedure to me with great patience.....thank you very much if anybody answers..

i have applied for CGFNS visa screening,and i have only bachelors degree,i have cleared my toefl with 26 speaking section.recently i got one mail from them that you have to finish your masters then only we can proceed furthur.i have replied to them that it is not at all mentioned in the application that masters is the mandatory thinkto apply for the visa screen,then they sent me the reply at least enroll for the masters program in physiotherapy recognised college, then we can go for furthur process.
so what should i do?

rateher than masters is there any other way to complete the ICHP visa screening??

And is DMP from HCMII course fulfil the needs of ICHP visa screening??

please let me knoe the answer..so that i will join in DMP ..they are offering 21 general education subjects and 64 general credits..so please help me..

The initial evaluation report says tat inorder to be eligible, I must complete 1 semester of university leavel coursework in math/statistics, social sciences and humanities....has anyone gone through this process b4?? please reply....

If you had completed your Masters with any compulsory internship
well before 30th june 2009,just go to FCCPT fill up 'online ' Type-I '
application form( which is for both ceredentials evaluation & visa screen certificate,). you do not have to worry about CGFNS
& any credit requirements of the sorts , they demand

CGFNS just gulps money by such deceptive means & hundreds have lost
thousands of dollars for nothing.

Now,if you had completed you degree & intern ship well within/on or before
30th june 2009 , go to FCCPT home page, fill on-line application for
Type-I ( this valid for both 1. credentials evaluation & 2. visa screen certificate ) No worry about any credit scores or masters.!

1) can i get my credentials evaluated on the basis of my bachelor's degree or do i need to first complete my mpt?
2) i need to complete GE credits to sit for the exam, can i complete my credits somewhere in india?
3) where can i find good study material for npte?

In the case of Michigan Board of Physical Therapy , You will first apply for Michigan Licensure & on receipt of your application they will give you an ID
Later , you apply(TYPE ' icdeval ' IN GOOGLE search (ICD)for credentials evaluation , for yourMichigan License.

application for a Michigan Physical Therapist license is received by the Board on or
after September 1, 2009.
Evaluations using the FCCPT course work evaluation tool may be completed with the
same companies that the Michigan Board currently utilizes for credential reviews.

You need to apply first to a state for a PT license.
Then follow the instructions given in the application packet
and follow the instructuctions for credentiasls evaluation
given therein.

General education credits - these detais can be had from
www.fsbpt.org site and search for CWT-5 and download it.
This is the tool with which FCCPT evaluates your credentials.
You will find the subjects & credits required.

But m still confuse when u said u have to decide state first then apply for credential but i have already applied for credential and have not decided state.fccpt did not ask me for any state confirmation. m going to take clep examsdid u give any clep exams for yr general credits? Every state in US , has a Physical therapy Board or committee
which is responsible for Licensing Physical Therapists to practise
in their respective states.They have they have their own choice of
credentials evaluation procedures.Some make their own & some get the
services of agencies like FCCPT.So,normally , you should make up your
mind about the state,where you are willing to work & start applying for
license with that state's Physical therapy Board, and fullfil their requirements
mentioned in the application form.you can also ask them for the required
general education credits needed to qualify.If FCCPT is one of the agencies
authorised by the PT Board of that state , then you may have to request
FCCPT to do the evaluation specific for that state & ask them to forward their
copy to that . But when you applied for FCCPT evaluation you must have made
the choice about this.
