hi all,
hey great reply with great suggestions, your words speaks ur experience in life.
we really need these kind of member.
well about doing something at this stage,i still feel that we dont have a great gathering,i dont want it to be a flop show.
i totally agree with your suggestions but still number matters a lot.wait for some time and for joining other physioz, joing hands with other group is a good suggestion.
one more thing,m no one to decide what to do,its our group, our future, our country, so let all decide what should be done, we need suggestions, we will decide what to be done and take action after that. let each member be the owner of the group.
my suggestion is to protest on roads on same day, throughout the country, in the capital of each state as it is not possible for all to come to delhi.
only one rally may not help us, so we will continue it.
about correspondence with ministers etc we need a experienced person, m happy that they are joinig our group now.
so for now we need to expand our range of member to each state and city.
we all need to work in our city and state to collect physioz under one roof, it can be our indianphysioz group or some other who is ready to join hands with us.
i hope u all agree with me.

did i said anything wrong?
not asingle reply after my reply.
correct me plz if m wrong.
-
-
its great to see the increasing no. of persons to come with hands in hands for fighting our right, now i feel that we have enough strenth to go further, our group have enough minded persons to guide in right way to go.
we will surly get it out
-
Dr.Handa be patient. group is growing. wait and conserve ur valuable energy for the right time.
it is not right time. our IAP has has thousands of members,we have to be in some proportion to it.
-
HEY PHYSIOZ JOIN THE GROUP YAAR.

hello mr sharma,
me being a student can gather a larger crowd but puttin words into action is to be initiated only by graduates who have finished....i really hope we r able to do something about this cos the thought of landing up in a medical crowd that does not recognize our importance fears me...am afraid that we physios r badly dominated by the doctors ...i mean MBBS...tis is out of bitter experience in my recent hospital postings...i really hope we create a council that raises our status in the medical field and society....
-
smartphysio m doing my intern and trying to gather physioz,
in last rally by IAP allmost all r students.
students are also a big strenght of physioz world, they can do alot under the guidence of experiance holders.in any rally from my college about 50-100 students can come.
so try forward the message.
-
Hi sharma.....by the looks of things.....with views dominating replies and support.....i see a bleak chance in acheiving our goal.....the majority of physios think that what we are trying to do is a bakwas.......
so dear sharma.......there is no point in struggling like this...finish your course and try to get some experience and get out of the indian system.....your enthusiasm can help wherever you go.....
cheers to all the viewers......you guys suck

Hi all,
In reading through your plight it is nice to see some real enthusiasm to make a change. Might I suggest the first steps are to get self organised so that you have a sound case to present to your government section responsible for what you are trying to achieve. Otherwise they will tell you to go away and get organised and then represent at a later date. This of course will take more time and a lot of energy.
I imagine that in your country, like in many others (Australia for example) there was once only a diploma course and never a degree course. There are however extremely gifted physios out there that have diplomas that have been working for years and years. The APA (Australian Physio Association) decided to bring all these people together and established a grandfather clause with specific criteria that permitted diploma graduates to still gain full registration with them as long as they meet the standards. This clause was open for a fixed amount of time after which it was closed down and only degree graduates could then apply. You should try to include these gifted educators at the outset as it will strengthen the overall position of your group in the short and medium term. Perhaps establishing criteria for inclusion might well be the first step in working out who your group actually are, how someone becomes a memebr and what they represent as a collective profession.
Might I suggest that you contact the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (link to left of page) on this. They represent to voice of the individual physios across the world more than any one national group. They may well have expert resource and guidence for you in this matter. I know several of the team personally and they are truely helpful individuals.
BTW, I would say as far as forum debate goes this forum topic has a huge amount of support. Replies don't indicate the only support. Many read, few reply. Often however the people who do not agree will be those who do reply! so take heed from the lack of them :D

indian physio 's not only need council we also need to properly market our profession, people of india are not clear when to visit a physiotherapist, what to ask a physio ,and what to be expected from physio.IAP should make use of media to educate our own people.as long as we depend on referrals, IMC would try to dictate us.i believe that when even of people slums know about physiotherapy,we can live with self- respect.
i understand ,as long as the council is not formed,it is an offence by the govt on the self - respect of the profession and professionals or failure of the govt to allow us to keep our self - respect.
it is realy a very serious issue ,i would definately co- operate, if u plan any move.it should be seriously and frequently discussed.
-
I certainly agree with the idea of marketting ourselves...
instead of the patient rushing to see a doctor and then passed on to the physio....a specialist physio should be able to refer cases to doctors and other specialities. there should be an open referral system where a patient can consult a physio for neuromusculoskeletal reasons and if the matter is beyond the control of a physio should be referred to the doctor.....BUT
We must build up a standard in our profession where we all become good clinicians....right in our diagnostic skills....how many of us are still turning up the pages of our notes in college to check for management of a condition. we must start to look forward and catch up with the time difference of the practise of physiotherapy in India and in the developed countries. many of our treatment methods in india are outdated....we have outdated equipments...outdated concepts and lack a personel development urge......
I still vouch the fact that each one should develop by himself....and then our profession will be more respected and recognized..
cheers
-

Hallo there!
I too did my graduation from india-manipal.I agree completely and am for having our own council.Pay scales and opportunities are really bad for fresh physios,i wonder also as to how well places senior physios are as well. Its becoming a trend to graduate and go out in search of greener pastures.
Plz let me know how i can help.
cheers to your initiative!
:)
-
ya that's right physiotherapy in india needs more attention by the govt.
And now being a physio student i have really lost faith in gove policies and is really worried about my future.
-
Sure enough India needs a separate council. But is any one working it right now. If so what's the progress? Any body's got any info on this?
