Sitting too long
Dear General Physiotherapy Discussion,
I hope u guys r going well and keeping safe
I have had lower back pain since 2010, but now its OK, but still don't have a perfect lower back, and I feel its only if I sit for too long
that its giving me discomforts, but not sure if the discomforts are coming from mentally or physically
I was wondering if I can get some advice for a specific question to be answered in some detail for future reference
If I sit for too long with good posture everyday, or sit for too long some days, what is it exactly doing to my lower back?
is this doing any physical damage to my lower back area?, or is it just giving me temporary discomforts?
Kind Regards
Gayan :)

Re: Sitting too long
Hey Gayan! Never do that. Sitting too long in front of a PC can cause a severe back-pain problem. There will be swelling in the lower back area, and any sudden movement can cause the lower discs to bend or slip. Make sure you don't sit too long, get up, do a few stretches, walk for some time and drink a lot of water. Walking helps. Go for both evening and morning walks. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Sitting too long
Hello,
I feel better now, since I take breaks every 15 to 20 minutes. I don't get back pain anymore, and I also do some lower back exercises everyday
to maintain a healthy back
Thanks again for your help, I really appreciated
Take care and say safe
