You'll receive that once they are ready to start your evaluation. Once you receive it, your status will change accordingly.

Re: Timelines for the credentals process in Canada by the Allaince.
Hello everyone. I just stumbled on this forum and find it very interesting. Its nice to see that we all have virtually the same kinda challenge. I have been on my credentialling since 2008...:)..so many ups and downs but almost done. I was made to do 3 modules...context of physio practice, evidenced based practice and independent practice...and PLAR totaling $1100..yet all therse things are contained in my school curriculum..infact a junior of mine did hers in lesser time didnt have 2do all the modules...but I believe its all good....we will make it...i intend to settle in BC..i have found the previous threads on the nature of practice rather informative n true bcos my brother almost broke his back as a rehab assistant. But will it be a different case if you are eligible for PCE and apply to work as an intern?will it be better pay and less of the vigorous work?

Re: Timelines for the credentals process in Canada by the Allaince.
Hi everyone,
I have also discovered this forum today and found very interesting information. Thank you all for sharing them, because this credentialling process is really frustrating! Like some of you, I am stuck at "we received and accepted the documents we needed to begin your assessment" since they started posting the status online (was it June, July or August 2011?).
I studied in Belgium, and went to a French-speaking University, graduated 10 years ago. Nobody from my year has left Belgium for Canada. Actually, I don't know anybody from my uni who went to the non-Québec part of Canada, and only one PhD student from my uni who got her PhD in Québec. That's all.
But what I do know, is that the education system and the health care system in Belgium and Ontario are very similar. Of course, there are differences, but I have talked to physios here in Ontario, and we all agree, we have the same education, in the end. I am now living in Ontario, for personal reasons - nothing to do with a potential physio job, and I find that I started my application process long enough in advance: they received my application package in Nov/Dec 2010, but asked for a signed consent form to translate my documents from French to English (they say that you can send the docs in E or F, but they don't mention that you will lose 3 months (or more) when you send them everything in F!). They finally received everything on February 3, 2011, and sent me a letter in June, to tell me the process is delayed and might take 40 weeks in total. I understand the 40 weeks start in February, which means I will get the results in November: nothing. Then June 16 + 40 weeks = March 22, 2012. Next week?!? Doubt it from what I just read on the forum.
So now I have to make up my mind to find a job as something else than physio - for the moment or forever, who knows? I read someone on this forum has been working as an assistant? Is it possible to work as an assistant, while we are waiting for our results? If so, does anyone know what would be required? I know there is a 2-year course you can follow, but I don't really have the time to go to school for 2 years. I'd rather do something else, then, and forget about physiotherapy.
I have the feeling that those Alliance timelines vary, and I think that the newly unprecedented files still take less time than the really unprecedented files...
No doubt this process takes way too long!
I wish you good luck and a lot of patience, to those who just started, as well as to those who are desperately waiting for an answer - maybe next week..., maybe next week?

I think I paid CAD250 or thereabout. It is a very easy enough module to read, you don't have to write any exam, just complete a declaration form and have it attested by a notary. You'll get an email from the Alliance a few weeks afterwards confirming that you have completed this requirement. Note: As discussed before, this option may not always be the best in all scenarios. Depending on your final evaluation outcome, you might be able to fulfil this requirement by completing other courses which also include contents of other requirements such as integrated practice/primary health care etc.
Yes, I had the status: "We are checking level focus of education and recongnition status of your institution" for a very long time. I didn't know what it meant at the time. It is now only becoming a bit clearer. The issue of "precedented" and "unprecedented" cases is still a curios one for me. I am still struggling to understand why the Alliance would chose to ignore prior knowledge and information they have about a particular programme/school and treat future applicants from the same school as unprecedented simply because there are a few changes in the credentialing standard. Surely they can very well identified what the additional/new requirements are and identify that as potential PLAR areas for future applicants from these schools in cases where such applicants have not completed further training e.g masters to meet the new requirement. Sending such credentials for "checking of focus of education and recognition status" despite evidence of previous applicants from the same school is pointless in my opinion and it is the main reason why I think the process is now so slow.
You know, the not so funny thing is, the Alliance just posted on their site that they changed their standard again this January (2012). As my case was based on standard prior to this date, that means all of the clarifications/documentations used in my case will now not be of use in dealing with future applicants from my school/year of study as they will be treated as unprecedented cases under the new standard. Curios isn't it?!
Hi else,
Where did you find this module book prepared by the Alliance that you mention here? I can't find it on their website. There is a free assessment tool, but I doubt it's the same.
Thank you for your help!

PREPARATION SESSIONS FOR JUNE 2012 PCE PRACTICAL (TORONTO)
We currently have tutoring sessions or drop in class for those wanting to prepare for the PCE in June 2012. These sessions and classes are being run out of an operational physiotherapy clinic with experienced physiotherapists. There is a possibility of being offered a job position if candidates successfully pass their exams. Please email me at [email protected] for details. Prices are very reasonable and you can decide on which sessions you like to attend.

Hi fatexyman, do you know why you have to take that course? Obviously they think you didn't get enough credits in that field, but do you personnally think that you didn't get enough credits in that field? I am asking, because my uni education was all about evidence-based practice, but it is not like we had a course called evidence-based practice..., so if I stumble upon an evdence-based practice course, I might take it, just in case.
Thanks!

Re: Timelines for the credentals process in Canada by the Allaince.
@lavanworld:
Yes, Based on my personal experience, I think it will be in your best interest and potentially save you some valuable time during the process if you submit documents from both institutions. Depending on the contents of your training in both schools, you may be able to earn additional credits/content areas from your post-grad courses to cover possible deficiencies in your under-grad training. Be sure that both institutions provide full details of all the courses/module contents covered during your studies.

And it has to be sent in English from your university or from the translator service. the documents can't be sent from you.
They won't accept that.

Re: Timelines for the credentals process in Canada by the Allaince.
hi Aurelie, I'm sure my curriculum contains evidenced based practice. In fact a junior of mine in school who submitted her documents (of course same as mine) didn't have to do the module. So I believe its just dependent on who is assessing your case. However I look to the positive side that this module help to give an insight into the Canadian health system.
However it is the alliance that will determine if you have to do any additional course. They will determine this based on the documents sent or they might request for more documents from you. My advice is for fresh applicants, make sure you submit all documents regarding your education and possibly places you have worked.

Re: Timelines for the credentals process in Canada by the Allaince.
When the Alliance up-date for applicant " We will send you results in couple of weeks" , Does it really happen the Allaince send results in 2 weeks? or Does it take long time as usual ?

Re: Timelines for the credentals process in Canada by the Allaince.
Hi sami,
My current status " We will send you result in couple of weeks"
What country did you receive your education ? I am not sure what you can do if you better save time and go for courses, but usually they send you assessment report and your choices to go and take courses. Have not you study psychology and pharmcology during your study ?
cheers
