    Re: Insure my hands

    Hi,
as I said before, ... those things are covered by "Income protection insurances".

But I still don't get, why you think that our hands are the only tools of our trade. Do you think you would be able to work with a fractured shoulder? - Traumatic Brain Injury? - Osteoarthritis in your elbow? - Spinal injury? - Lung cancer? - ...

    Regards,

    Re: Insure my hands

The reason I asked about hands was that I've been getting sore hands, in particular thumbs, recently. You have a point, why not insure everything? But accidents/injury happen, it's impossible to live in a bubble and protect ourselves from everything! I was just simply wondering about hands because as a manual therapist I use my hands all the time and with repetitive strain I feel injury will occur and if that does happen, I was just curious to see if there was some sort of insurance out there which will give me some sort of compensation ie a quick op or something -maybe private healthcare would be a better option?! As we all know, waiting around for an op in the NHS could take several months.

    Point taken. Thanks.

As we all know, waiting around for an op in the NHS could take several months.
... no, we don't all know that.

Well, here in NZ you would be better off with a private health insurance = use private surgeon/ hospital and bypass the public waiting list. But then, every health system is different.
Why don't you contact an Insurance Broker? They should be able to give you the best options.
