I am a PT. I love ice. It reduces blood flow which is the fuel for muscle spasms. And reduces pain.

I don't know how is it possible? why because, ice will induce vasoconstriction.. so it will reduce swelling only.. ice alone doesn't reduce muscle spasm.. i think so..

short dry freezing such CO2 or nitrogen gives initialy closure of vessels (vasoconstriction)then opening up to 4 times more then normally.The similar reaction as heating.reduces overexcited neural sysytem.
