    current practice for MND rehab

Is the use of cervical collars contra-indicated for use with an elderly, newly diagnosed MND lady who experiences severe upper thoracic/lower cervical pain when standing?

re: current practice for MND rehab

What is your opnion? It is a bit hard to say from my deskchair, I suppose I need to know if the neckpain, according to you is related to the MND or if it is a seperate problem. Usually their symptoms start at distal extremties (correct me if I am wrong), Is it mechanical/ muscular, can you treat it? When is the pain there.
Cervical collars don't do a great deal for ACTIVE stabilisation, try and keep your patient to use their muscles
