    Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity Testing

    Hi all,

On section 1.6 normal reflex activity, if you have not given full marks for section 1.5, how should you score 1.6? It would seem I should score a zero. However, that seems at odds with section 1.1 which scores reflex activity at 0 for absent, whereas in section 1.6 scores 0 for "two or three markedly hyperactive" reflexes.

    Many thanks

    Re: Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity Testing

I have found online a pdf of the instructions (used in an APTA Meeting 2008) for the performance of the Fugl-Meyer testing protocol. Not usre if this has been updated in anyway but maybe it will assist. Sorry I am not used to performing this in its entirity so maybe someone else will add comment.

    Re: Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity Testing

    Hey,

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I found those online alright and a few other articles to boot.

Just finding it difficult to see how the two sections could test similar tasks but give different answers.

    Many thanks
