I injured my ankle for the third time in April 09 - 6 months later I still have 2 complete ruptures of lateral ligaments.

I am having ankle stabilisation surgery done in 3 weeks. I am concerned however with persistent medial pain I am having and front of ankle. The surgeon isn't too concerned, should I ask him to look at it while I am having surgery?

My Wikipedia reference-linkMRI report reads - complete tear of anterior talofibular ligament and calcaneofibular ligament. Prominent hyperintensity of medial deltoid ligament in deep fibres suggesting partial tear. Peroneus brevis tendon is hyperintense and thickened posterior to lateral malleolus, this is in keeping with tendinopathy. Possible vertical tear of peroneus brevis tendon in this region.

Also post op - when I get the cast off after 6 weeks - what kind of ankle walker should I be getting into?
