Amputee Recommended best practice

Hi there guys.
I am working at Auckland City Hospital, and we are in the process of formulating an interdisciplinary team approach to amputee management recommended best practice, both pre and post op.
Just wondering if anyone has any input, or can point us in the right direction, or if anyone has a draft or an outline they they might have followed at their institution?

hi,

I am a part of amputee clinic team in my hospital. The team consists of physiatrist ( Physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor), physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and prosthetist. We also request services from psychologist and social worker if needed. Preop training usually done in wards and involves training with crutches. Usually the patient is referred to our clinic after amputation. The initial treatment would consist of training with crutches ( preprosthetic training), if not done prior. Once the patient is able to ambulate with crutches, he would be fitted with a temporary prosthesis . Once the wound gets healed, he/she would be fitted with a permanent prosthesis(prosthetic training). The whole system works better with our population. I wonder if this would help in your setting.
