Re: Physiotherapy Competency Examination in Canada
Hi! I am writing my PCE in March. Has any of you tried the practice questions from NPTE Review&Study Guide? I don't seem to get through them and I'm wondering if the Canadian exam is similar to those. Do they ask stuff like interpreting blood tests or knowing drug side effects?

Re: Physiotherapy Competency Examination in Canada
Hi Gabriela,
Thanks, I hope we'll get it. When you wanna meet?
Best wishes,

Re: Physiotherapy Competency Examination in Canada
For Mlaura:
Focus on the clinic questions; the American book has lots of administration questions that "you do not need to focus on so much...".
The general opinion is that the exam questions are of higher level of difficulty than the ones posted on the Canadian Alliance webside.
I would say do all the practice questions that you can find, in the clinical field, and focus very much on the matter in Colby and the Sullivan guide.
Best wishes,
Manuel

Re: Physiotherapy Competency Examination in Canada
hi friends
I have The 2007 National Physical Therapy Examination Review & Study Guide, by Susan O'Sullivan and Raymond Siegelman, helps to prepare for the NPTE and the PCE, as well as 3 complete computer-generated simulated examinations. Included also are studying and test-taking strategies, up-to-date information about the Licensure process, and answer rationales to help pinpoint which areas to study.
Content chapters reflect the latest test information, and tables and figures have been included to aid in studying for the exam. In addition, our exclusive practice exam software conforms to the new exam format and includes THREE complete exams--with 600 practice questions--to give you the practice you need before you take the exam.
The Review & Study Guide contains:
Information on Obtaining a License in USA
New Content Outline of the National Physical Therapy Examination
Examination Procedures and Grading
Simulated Exams and Answer Rationales
Test Taking Hints
Chapters are Consistent with the Guide to Physical Therapist Practice (692 PAGES):

Re: Physiotherapy Competency Examination in Canada
Hi there!
I'm planning to take the PCE written component early next year and like you, I am also looking for a study group. Are you in a group already? Can I join? my only concern is that i can only do a study group online since i have 2 young boys in tow. I'm on maternity leave right now and as much as possible i want to do more readings/review before going back to work. I started reviewing Anatomy right now since everyone that I know kept saying to study the basics first. How are guys doing it?
Hope I'm still not that late for your study group.
Thanks!
