    Credential Evaluation...Next Steps?

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
    Hi,

I recently completed credential evaluation from FCCPT. According to that I lack 40 odd credits in general education category. I went to the FSBPT site and also washington physical therapy board site, did not get any clear directions on what to do next. Do I have to get credits and apply to washington state board or apply first and get credits?

What should be my next steps?

    Thanks in advance

    Re: Credential Evaluation...Next Steps?

i think the easiest way is to CLEP them..
plz help me how, where, how long and what to do?

    1) is there online exams (without the course) or i have to apply only at a community college?

    2) is there a faster way to get these credits?

    3) what is the state that ask for minimum general education hours and what`s the minimum?

    4) is it easy to transfer license from one state to another or you have to go through all of that again?

    5) What`s the average payscale for the physical therapy technician in united states?

    i appreciate any answer.

    Re: Credential Evaluation...Next Steps?

PTs from India lack General Education Credits. Only one place all PTs can get their education credits are Home. I am told they offer all the required general education credits accredited by UGC (University System). This will solve all the General education Credits problem being faced by Indian PTs. CLEP cannot give complete credits and lots of time and money need to go in.
    Hope this helps you.

    Re: Credential Evaluation...Next Steps?

One need to obtain all the General Education Credits before going in for a specific state (except NY). Once you are through with your evaluation and TOEFL needs, I think rest of the path is easy.

I have seen a company COMMIT offering all the general education credits that are lacked by Indian PTs. May be it would help. You can try. Thanks.

    Re: Credential Evaluation...Next Steps?

    Hello Everybody,
I am PT from INDIA completed my education bachelors and masters from India
I am here in the USA as a permanent resident completed my credentials evaluation in CALIFORNIA.
Credential Evaluation agency told me that I am short on some General Education credits , so I thought of completing them.
In the meanwhile while I was in India I came across an organization Home : Outsourcing Solutions that told me that they can help me complete my credentials and also help me find a job in the USA.
Their job is to help people like us complete our Credits and then they will help us prepare for NPTE and thereby help us get a job.
They mention that they have a tie up with a US University and that our credits are valid once we complete the courses online.
I can do all the completion of the courses while I am in India

    My Question
Anybody heard about this organization/agency? Is is genuine?
    Anybody come across this agency?

    Re: Credential Evaluation...Next Steps?

The fastest and cheapest way for earning general Education credits is through COMMIT in India. Unfortunately, this is available only for Indian Physios as the credits are through Indian Universities that are accepted globally including FCCPT.

All courses are ONLINE and can be done from anywhere. Please visit them at commit dot co dot in and you may have answers to your questions.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Credential Evaluation...Next Steps?

    Hey all,

I have done my physiotherapy from india and now will be moving to canada this year end most likely as my husband is a canadian citizen....but i heard that credential evaluation is a big headache for indian students, they ask for PLAR for most students, so how much time it takes to complete PLAR and then I heard that PCE exam is very difficult, indian students dont clear it in first try, so how many tries we can give max?

I was hoping to get some advice on the Written component of the examination. I am an internationally educated physio and currently assembling material to study for the exam. In particular, what are the most relevant & useful books to prepare for the exam.your response will be appreciated greatly.

    Thank you.

    Hi Richa,

I hope you are well. Did you manage to clear NY credentials and NPTE exam? I know it’s very late to ask you this as you posted this 8 years back .

    Regards,
    Jeena
