    Knee pain getting worse

    Hi,

Nearly 3 weeks ago i twisted my knee at football training, a few days after training the pain had gone so i played football on the saturday and it came back. So i rested for a week and again the pain had gone so i played football again on the saturday but again the pain has come back and this time its worse. I havent done any sports since saturday but the pain is still there and probably gettin slightly worse.

It hurts mainly when walking down stairs when i have my weight on my knee while its bent. but generally walking around also hurts to the point where i try to keep my leg straight.

The pain was origianlly on the bone on the outside of my knee right on the joint, but its feels like its moving and i can now feel the pain around the tendons on the outside of my knee above the joint and also under my knee in the centre of my leg.

It doesnt hurt unless i move it but the pain doesn't seem to be going away like a sports injury usually would.

Im wondering what would be the best option and possible treatment? Should i go see my doctor or go to the physio?

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks

    Jonny

    Re: Knee pain getting worse

Really hard to say from the description but there are alot of structures that can be hurt in the knee. When the pain tends to move around like you describe then I tend lean towards the Wikipedia reference-linkmeniscus as being a possible culprit. - very slow to heal and wouldn't have come right within the time limit you describe.
So yes visit a physio - they'll send u to the GP if needed.

    all the best

    Taping
Well, I agree with pudding - sounds very much like a meniscal tear. jonny should get to his GP first and then be referred to knee surgeon for investigation.
