    Sports Physio Course in AUS

    Hi there,

has anybody completed the 2-day course "Sports Level 1" which is offered by the APA? Can you recommend it?
I am not involved in working with sport teams, but would like to improve my knowledge of acute sporting injuries which you see in private practice and also learn some useful taping techniques.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks, Melanie

Re: Sports Physio Course in AUS

Hmmm...did mine about 12 or so years ago...it was helpful then

There are lots of good courses to go on.

I would recommend the 8 day course by Manual Concepts or anything with Linda Joy Lee via Clinical Edge. The Alison Grimaldi course was good too. I don't know anyone who has done the MPA Level 1 course...

Otherwise do your masters at Uni of WA

    Cheers!

The goal of physiotherapy is to restore optimum function - that is to move freely and maintain positions without causing damage either now or in the future. This requires the assessment and restoration of efficient load transfer throughout the whole body.

    Thanks for your reply!

Hmmm...tough decision....especially if you look at the price tag that comes with it
The cost for the APA Sports Level 1 is $ 910 (for non-members) which seems a bit pricey for 2 days.
The course offered by Manual Concepts "Advanced Sports Rehabilitation" is almost $6000 but lasts 4 weeks so it seems it's a bit more value for money.

    hiya,

If you want to be a titled/specialist sports physio, you need to do those sports courses i believe...

The 4 weeks in Perth is awesome from what i hear and a lot better value for money but you have to add accom and food...unless you live in perth!

    Cheers!

    Taping
    hi brian Dutch,

As a moderator, i have to tell you that you are treading a very fine line here. Physiogirl76 is a physio already. Your post has absolutely nothing to do with her enquiry nor the discussion. You link also has nothing specific to physio about it.

i suggest you edit your post and remove the link or put a link that specifically has physio in it...if physiobob gets wind of what you are doing, he may ban you...i am giving you a chance

    Cheers!
