I have been running for about a year now. I started off very slow, only able to run about a half a mile, but in a few weeks I worked up to running 12-13 minute miles. Over time I have reduced this to 10 minute miles (comfortable pace) and my fastest mile was 7:55. Usually I just run at an easy pace, and I am a forefoot striker.
Suddenly in January doing 4 and 5 mile runs, I started getting pain on the lower inside part of my legs. I stopped running a lot around this time because school was starting, but I maintained a pathetic low number of 4 miles per week.
Now that classes are over, I've increased my mileage to a paltry 6 miles per week and the pain has come back, worse than before! It took four days off and massaged and stretched my calf and tried again. I felt great and went out for a light jog - the pain came back after only half a mile!!! This is a debilitating pain that stiffens my lower leg and makes it possible to run.
I have looked this up and found ZERO useful information. I have asked on other forums (even RunnersWorld) and got ZERO useful information. I find lots of people asking for help on this, but almost ZERO input on the matter - and worse, everyone describes it as a chronic condition that prevents them running for months, sometimes years!
This is very frustrating because summer is FINALLY here and I don't have class!!! But now I'm injured and can't run!!!!!!
I have attached a photo of exactly where the pain is. It's on both legs.
