    Hi,

I am looking to resit the written exam in May 2013. I had my first go in November 2012, but unfortunately, I did not pass. I am not currently in Canada, but I am disposed to online study group work via Skype etc

I'll send you my email/Skype contact via private messaging.

    Hi,

I am also looking to link up with people that are writing in May 2013. I am also not currently in Canada.

Has anyone had feed back about their exam site allocation?

    Thanks

if you don't mind me asking, when did you apply for the exam? I'm hoping to hear something soon, need to book flights.

Are there are study guides that you are using? I'm working with NPTE prep books out of desperation, can anyone give feed back on this?

    Hello,
I am waiting for my credentialing evalutaion and I am expecting receiving the result within 2 weeks.
I would like to join the group to prepare for the written component.
How and with what materials are you preparing the exam? It will be a lot of help.
    I need to start ASAP.

Am, totally new to Canadian exam, went to BPT in Seoul, Korea and trained in the U.S.
Trying to work/live in Ottawa, Canada.

    Thanks a lot! :-)

    Regards,

    Sophia

    Hi,

If you go to the Canadian Alliance web site there is a blue print of everything you need to cover. I am using the NPTE study book also, but you need to realize that the Canadian exam is not the same as the American one. From taking the Uni of BC course you discover that there are a lot of differences in techniques, values etc, also different areas of treatment, drugs used, terminology etc. If you have time you may find doing the online Uni of BC course Helps. I was trained in the UK, for example in using manipulations, their terminology is the reverse of what we use!

On the Alliance web site there is also a reading list, many of those books are helpful, but you have to be careful with the values in some of them as they are the US values which vary from the Canadian. I found the Canadian ones vary from the UK ones. Happy days. Have you also checked out the professional stuff, search for the physio register in the province you are considering working and you can read up on it there.

They say you receive exam pk 2 weeks before exam! A friend has just received her confirmation today, but not the exam pack.

Hope this helps and good luck.

PS Where are you sitting your exam?

    Re: PCE preparation group on-web.

    Hi,

I will most likely be giving the Nov2013 written component. Anybody interested in forming a study group in Vancouver?

Also, is the course offered by UBC worth taking?

    looking forward to a reply.

    thanks

    Hi,

I found the BC course very helpful, reading the text books alone, does not guarantee you are reading the right stuff.

    Good luck,

    Re: PCE preparation group on-web.

Hi, I have read your comments about the BC course for preparation and I am thinking of joining it for July 2013 session. I have one more question if you or anybody else can answer this. In the new Candidate handbook of 2013 it's mentioned that there will be maximum 3 attempts for both written and clinical exam , while in 2012 handbook it's clearly mentioned that a candidate has maximum of 3 attempts per component. I am very confused as if it's only 3 attempts for both components combined then it will be tough job to do.
