Smile Signing the Statuatory Declaration re: registration in NZ

Advertise your physiotherapy job on Physiobob's Job
I am a physiotherapist from Saudi Arabaia want to complete my postgraduate study in Auckland University of Technology.

I send my documents to New Zealand physiotherapy boards (for special purpose scope of registration) but they returned it because of the statutory declaration.

I want to ask members how they signed the statutory declaration in their countries, which officials sign this part - court or ministry of justice or any other governmental institute?

    Thank you too much

    Ameeprt

Re: Signing the Statuatory Declaration re: registration in NZ

I would email the NZ registration board and ask them who they require as a signature on the document. It might be as simple as a Justice of the peace, e.g. a doctor, lawyer, professional from another area?

Re: Signing the Statuatory Declaration re: registration in NZ

Thus What they Have REgarding ST.declaration :

    Statutory declaration
Section K is a statutory declaration.A statutory declaration is a declaration made
under oath. The onus is on you the applicant to ensure the information you
supply to the Board is correct and true.If it is subsequently shown that you have
obtained registration fraudulently, you will be removed from the register,be
unable to practise physiotherapy in New Zealand and may face imprisonment
    and/or a large fine.

Re: Signing the Statuatory Declaration re: registration in NZ

I would ask your doctor to sign this. That would be OK in Australia and in the UK as both are considered reliable enought to sign. I would think that NZ should accept this. You could also ask a lawyer if you have one handy.

Re: Signing the Statuatory Declaration re: registration in NZ

As far as I know they require either a Lawyer or a JP (Magistrate) to sign everything to say that the copies you send are from originals which they have seen. Unfotunatley 95% of the applications to the NZ board get returned, so you are not alone! I don't think they will accept any other professions signing the copies, it HAS to be a lawyer or JP.

Re: Signing the Statuatory Declaration re: registration in NZ

    Hi
I recently became registered in NZ, for the stat declaration you need it signed by a Justice of the Peace, cannot be a doctor, clergyman etc. The main problem with getting stat declarations returned is if the justice of peace does not provide BOTH a mail address and a physical address.
    Hope this helps

Re: Signing the Statuatory Declaration re: registration in NZ

Also, with anything regarding registration etc, the most helpful and knowledgable people are actually the physio school at AUT where you may be studying post grad. They know all about this and are far more helpful than anyone else.

Re: Signing the Statuatory Declaration re: registration in NZ

Thanks for all for your importnat replies, i fail again to sign the declaration in my country, so i think the prober solution is to sign the statutory declaration in Newzealand when i go there.

AUT informed me that this is the prober solution for applicants who failed to sign the form in their home countries.

    Hi Physioro,
Seeing as you have become registered...
I have a question about the competencies, they keep saying not to answer them like exam questions but for example in 1.2.3 when they ask to "explain physiotherapy electrical modalities and demonstrate skill in clinical application" do you just say how it's covered in your syllabus and give evidence of clinical use or do you go into an explanation of the different modalities.
I am a bit confused by this and would appreciate any advice you have.
    Thanks,
    Jen
