Paediatric Physiotherapy Assistant

Hi all,

I am an unqualified teacher in an academy in Yorkshire. I recently applied to do my physiotherapy pre-reg to pursue my dream of becoming a physiotherapist.

I have manual handling training, I have shadowed therapists in a number of settings and clinics, and worked as a physiotherapy assistant myself in various adult orientated organisations.

I also have a 2:1 degree in Health and Exercise science where I achieved a first in the modules of massage therapy, exercise rehabilitation and anatomy and physiology, amongst a 2:1 in everything else.

I believe with my experiences and knowledge, that a position as a paediatric physiotherapy assistant would be perfect. I have an interview in a weeks time, and I feel good. I am quietly confident on questions relating to children and to physiotherapy. It is questions dealing with specifics and scenarios that I struggle on.

I was just wondering if anyone could help me out on a few scenarios/problems that may come up in an interview question, and how would they be dealt with?

In general however, any advice on what may be asked and what they want to hear would be much appreciated.

You should thoroughly research what qualifications they need in the assistant they seek to hire. You can also talk to other physiotherapists to know what would they look for in an asistant and how competent he/she should be.

some interviews always ask about the following
1. what your biggest weakness so you need to fix in this work
2. how about seminars and training have you follow about pediatric
3. what your biggest targets in the work to improve the ability of this job
