yes, you are right, I mainly ready articles.
I have one massive anatomy book that I frequently refer to and one book for a very specialised area. That's it.
I never get any from the Library because Libraries hardly store any medically useful books and if they do, the charge is so high, I'm better off checking what I need to know in articles or websites.

I think a lot of books are valid for quite some time, especially those internationally referred to.
